Environmental Initiative is facilitating a conversation amongst leaders in the business, government and nonprofit sectors to explore new opportunities for emissions reductions, lay the groundwork for future collaboration to improve air quality in Minnesota and to respond to potential nonattainment designations.
Minnesota’s Clean Air Dialogue builds upon the longstanding public-private partnerships established through Clean Air Minnesota, whose steering committee members have worked together for nearly a decade to keep Minnesota’s air clean through proactive, voluntary approaches. This project will capitalize on these existing relationships with the goal of educating, motivating and engaging a wider community of stakeholders on the issues of air quality and the potential for nonattainment of new federal air quality standards.
Environmental Initiative will convene a group of leaders from the business, government and nonprofit sectors to:
Identify and articulate challenges associated with potential nonattainment issues
Identify what will be necessary to address these challenges and
Develop strategies to implement identified actions, including resources and funding strategies to improve air quality.
The outcomes of the dialogue will include a final report, issued to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and other key stakeholders.
